South Ural teams failed to reach the semi-finals. In the capital of the Chelyabinsk region, from June 2 to 4, the final of the interregional amateur basketball league among men’s teams in the Ural Federal District was held. This was reported by the regional press service of the Basketball Federation.
The Asbest team from the Sverdlovsk region received gold and the right to compete in the superfinal. Arktika from Tyumen took second place in the finals of the interregional amateur basketball league in the Ural Federal District. Bronze went to Perm Krasava.
During the competition, a “Match of Friends” was held. Representatives of the government of the region, ministers, athletes and sponsors gathered on the floor of the Krupskaya Children’s Theater School.
Andrey Zubkov, a professional basketball player from the Chelyabinsk sports school, became the star guest of the Friends Match. During the tournament, he noted the most valuable player among the youths born in 2009 of the final round of the league named after Andrei Zubkov, Alexei Nikitin. The teenager received a game jersey autographed by a professional athlete.
Two teams took part in the “Match of Friends”: orange and blue. Despite the fact that the orange team had an advantage in the person of Andrey Zubkov, the meeting ended with an equal score – 52:52.
