“Chelbasket” interrupted the series of defeats – MK Chelyabinsk

Last weekend, Chelyabinsk basketball players met the University-Ugra team on their home court.

In the third period of the game, the South Urals allowed their opponents from “University-Ugra” to take the lead, causing the stands to become quite nervous. However, in the final ten minutes, Chelbasket was able not only to catch up with the guests from Ugra, but also to take the lead.

The result is a long-awaited victory 78:71 after a series of defeats. Head coach of BC Chelbasket Evgeniy Gorev noted that the team demonstrated a good game and followed the instructions of their mentors.

“Very good defense. They let us go a little in the third quarter, but in the fourth they showed great desire and character. In the last quarter, it is worth noting Evgeniy Borisov, he gave good energy, very correct, which is what a young player should give. The game turned into an equal one, where we no longer had the right to let it go,” commented Evgeniy Gorev on the results of the match.

One of the most productive players of the meeting at Chelbasket were Dmitry Zlobin, who brought the team 24 points, and Sergey Mikhalev with 15 points.

“This victory was needed like air so that everyone would believe in themselves. There were moments when we let the opponent go, but no one even thought of giving up and just giving up the game,” said BC Chelbasket captain Dmitry Zlobin.

The Chelyabinsk team will play their next match against Khimki near Moscow.
