State Duma deputy from “United Russia” Adam Delimkhanov said that the fighters of the Chechen special forces “Akhmat” began to work in the Belgorod region. According to him, the fighters of the unit are in the border areas of the region.
“On behalf of the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov, we are working on the border area of the Belgorod region. Most importantly, we have everything you need to complete the tasks. There are no problems,” Mr. Delimkhanov said in his Telegram channel. He did not name the exact number of Akhmat fighters in the Belgorod region.
On the eve of June 14, messages appeared in Ukrainian Telegram channels about the possible death of Mr. Delimkhanov in the Zaporozhye direction in the zone of military operations in Ukraine. Later, the Zvezda TV channel, citing the press service of the State Duma informedthat the deputy was not killed, but was wounded. The commander of the Akhmat special forces, Apty Alaudinov, said that the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, instructed him to find Adam Delimkhanov. Later, the head of Chechnya himself said that the deputy did not get in touch, and offered to pay Ukrainian intelligence to find out where the deputy was. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that Adam Delimkhanov is “alive and well.” Ramzan Kadyrov later named fake information about the death and injury of Adam Delimkhanov and posted a video in which he and the parliamentarian discuss the situation in the combat zone. Adam Delimkhanov himself in the Telegram channel said that everything was fine with him, and thanked everyone who was worried about him.
June 13 that the fighters of “Akhmat” will protect border territories of the Belgorod region, which are regularly subjected to shelling and attacks by saboteurs, said the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov. According to him, agreements on this were reached with the Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. As Mr. Kadyrov explained, the fighters of the Akhmat battalion, together with other Russian units, will be directly involved in preventing attacks by Ukrainian saboteurs in the border areas of Russia.
On May 22, saboteurs were able to penetrate the territory of the Graivoronsky district of the Belgorod region. 13 civilians were injured, one person died in the attack, an elderly woman died during the evacuation. The Ministry of Defense the next day reported that the saboteurs were defeated, and their remnants were squeezed into the territory of Ukraine. After that, there were several reports of fighting on the border in the Belgorod region. So, on June 4, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov spoke about the battle between Russian forces and saboteurs in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. The Ministry of Defense claims that there was an attempt to penetrate the village from the territory of Ukraine, but an artillery strike was made on the enemy, he was “scattered and retreated.”
