Japanese Digital Minister Taro Kono in an interview with Bloomberg TV informedthat the state-of-the-art ChatGPT chatbot could not recognize him, mistaking him for the country’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

“When I asked ChatGPT who Taro Kono was, he gave me the wrong answer, saying that he was the Prime Minister,” said Mr. Kono. “After that, I advised him (chatbot.— ”b”) to be more careful. Japanese media notethat Digital Minister Taro Kono is one of the most active supporters of the development of artificial intelligence (AI) systems. According to the minister, AI can help solve the problem of shortage of jobs.

In 2021, Taro Kono applied for the post of Prime Minister of Japan from the Liberal Democratic Party. However, during the party primaries, he is in the sharpest fight conceded leadership of Fumio Kishide, who eventually became the country’s prime minister.
