“Chaika” will play in the semi-finals of the Kharlamov Cup against “Loko”

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” continue to compete in the playoffs of the Kharlamov Cup of the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is the current holder of the Kharlamov Cup and shows excellent results during the 2023-2024 season, gaining a foothold in the first half of the standings. Based on the results of 50 matches played, “Chaika” was able to take 4th place in the “Golden” division of the Eastern Conference, losing to representatives of Chelyabinsk, Omsk and Khanty-Mansiysk. In the first round of the playoffs, “Chaika” dealt with “Irbis” without any problems, and then was able to beat “Mamontov Ugra”, securing medals at the end of the season.

At the moment, we can safely talk about Chaika’s upcoming opponent in the semi-final match of the Kharlamov Cup playoffs. For the second time in a row, Nizhny Novgorod hockey players will compete with opponents from Yaroslavl “Loko” to reach the finals. The best team in the “Golden” division has already secured access to the semi-finals, leaving the representatives of “Almaz” behind in the playoffs. Last season, Chaika beat Loko, which they can do this time too.

Let us remind you that last season the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” became the winner of the Kharlamov Cup, defeating the “Omsk Hawks” in the final.
