“Chaika” was eliminated from the Kharlamov Cup playoffs

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” finished playing in the playoffs of the Kharlamov Cup of the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod became the best in the league at the end of last season and showed excellent results during the current regular season. In 50 matches of the regular season, Chaika played well, which allowed them to take 4th place in the Golden Division of the Eastern Conference and automatically qualify for the playoffs. In the two initial stages, “Chaika” passed “Irbis” and “Mamontov Ugra” without any problems, but they failed to beat their opponents from Yaroslavl.
On April 10, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” lost to the Yaroslavl “Loko” for the fourth time during the series and was eliminated from the Kharlamov Cup playoffs. Alexey Isakov’s players were not much worse than their opponents, but the fate of the match was decided by individual episodes, where the representatives of Yaroslavl were stronger. Lokomotiv’s youth team tipped the scales in their favor during extra time, scoring the winning goal in the 13th minute of overtime.
Thus, “Chaika” is eliminated in the semi-finals and becomes the bronze medalist of the Kharlamov Cup.
