“Chaika” reached the semi-finals of the Kharlamov Cup playoffs

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” continue to compete in the playoffs of the Kharlamov Cup of the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is the current holder of the trophy and showed excellent results during the current championship, settling in the first half of the standings. Based on the results of 50 matches played, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” was able to take 4th place in the “Golden” division of the Eastern Conference, which allowed them to automatically qualify for the playoffs. Only representatives from Chelyabinsk, Omsk and Khanty-Mansiysk played better than Alexey Isakov’s players.
In the second round of the Kharlamov Cup playoffs, the Chaika hockey players met with Mammoths Ugra, who became the best in the Golden Division. The Nizhny Novgorod team lost the first meeting with a score of 2:0, and then beat Mamontov Ugra three times in a row. First, Chaika defeated their opponents with a score of 4:1, and then turned out to be stronger twice in a row in overtime with a score of 2:1. Thus, the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” knocks out the best team of the “Golden” division from the fight for the trophy and advances to the semi-finals.
In the semi-final series of the Kharlamov Cup playoffs, the Chaika hockey players will face opponents from the Western Conference.
