Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Seagull” continue the active phase of preparation for the start of the new MHL season. The current holders of the Kharlamov Cup came out of vacation in early July and have already played 10 friendly matches. Most of the control meetings were played in the form of double matches, and from July 31 to August 4, “The Seagull” played at the pre-season tournament in Kazan, where it took 2nd place, losing in a single match against Yaroslavl “Loko”.
On August 21, “The Seagull” started at the Cup of the Governor of the Tula Region – one of the most prestigious tournaments of the summer off-season among MHL clubs. Representatives of the Western and Eastern Conferences gathered in Tula and Novomoskovsk, and the most status participants are Chaika and SKA-1946. In the first match of the tournament “Chaika” beat “Dynamo-Shinnik” from Bobruisk with a score of 8:4 and topped the standings.
In the second match of the Governor’s Cup of the Tula region, which will be held on August 23, “The Seagull” will play against the “Snow Leopards” from Kazakhstan, who returned to the MHL after a long break. The starting throw-in in the match between teams from Russia and Kazakhstan will take place at 15:00.
