– Tell us, what are the benefits of dancing as a form of physical activity for health?

Dancing is a complex sport. To put it simply, when we dance, the whole body works, this is a completely unique physical activity. They carry a functional load, cardio and muscle. In addition, during dancing, fat burning occurs, coordination and musicality develop – such a synergy of physical and creative processes is obtained. I must add: during dancing, the brain is actively working. In a word, some continuous advantages.

Is dancing suitable for everyone? Are there any contraindications?

– Dancing is for everyone. The only issue is intensity. If these are amateurs, then we must proceed from their physical data, understand whether they had experience in playing sports, whether they danced before.

Dancing can be practiced at any age. We have students – Andrey and Valentina, they are 75 years old. They dance in the “Senior” category and perform very successfully at competitions – they are finalists of the Russian Championship.

What advice can you give to older people who want to dance?

– When we worked in a project where people of the older generation danced, there was only one advice – a positive attitude. If there is an opportunity to move, to dance, you need to enjoy it as much as possible.

– Many mothers send their children to dance studios. Is it suitable for all children? How to understand whether it is necessary to send a child to a dance group?

– When parents bring their children to a dance studio, it’s wonderful. Moreover, many do this not because they want to raise dancers, but so that the child learns to move, so that he has a posture. In addition, parents want to develop creativity and artistry in children. Classes in groups help to go through socialization, all stages of competition, develop strong-willed qualities. It is proved that, being engaged in a team, the child develops faster. So there is no need to doubt: sign up the children for dancing.

– Why can dance relieve psychological stress, how useful is it in combating stress?

– During the dance, coordination and orientation in space, and interaction with a partner, the feeling of ourselves and our body in the dance are included, we hear the music, catch the rhythm, enjoy the movement. All this favorably affects the brain, a huge amount of hormones of joy is produced. And, of course, a good mood is guaranteed. Solid pluses.

– What dance movements are most useful for certain health problems?

– Speaking specifically, cha-cha-cha helps a lot with back pain, jive is recommended for varicose veins, if you have a headache, the best remedy is contemporary style, and hip-hop and foxtrot help to cope with a bad mood. So dance to your health!
