General Director of the Ufa football club Shamil Gazizov has submitted his resignation, “taking all the blame for the results of the team this season,” according to the official message club. At the meeting of the founders of the FC, the resignation was accepted. Shamil Gazizov himself was not available for comment.
On June 3, Ufa lost to Kuban 1:2 and, having scored 16 points, they were relegated from the Premier League to the second division. The head coach of “Ufa” Arslan Khalimbekov, commenting on the results of the match, said that “the general director took full responsibility.”
FC Ufa has recently experienced financial difficulties. In 2022, club employees were sent dismissal notices, but then the management was able to keep the team. In March, the head of the Ufa press service, Sergei Tyrtyshny, told Kommersant that all club employees got pay cut notices.
Last fall, Mr. Tyrtyshny said: “We flew out (from the Russian Premier League at the end of last season.— ”b”), did not receive a penny of money. We live on the funds that we ourselves have earned from the sale of players. But they are not endless. Recently, Sergei Tyrtyshny left the post of head of the press service of Ufa.
