The Gamaleya Center has received permission to study the updated composition of the Sputnik vaccine for children from 6 to 11 years old, said the director of the center, Alexander Ginzburg. According to him, research on the updated Sputnik for children 12–17 years old is already ending.

“As for the younger category of children, 6–11 years old, quite recently, literally a week ago, we received permission for this work from the Russian Academy of Sciences, from experts… Now, probably, recruitment of this younger age group is beginning,” said TASS Mr. Gunzburg.

He clarified that vaccine trials for adolescents are in their final stages. “A week ago, 42 or 43 children were vaccinated, everything is absolutely fine there. There are still seven or eight children left to be vaccinated,” assured Alexander Ginzburg.
