“Celebrate the New Year in clothes” – Kommersant FM

An attempted rebellion, the start of the presidential campaign in Russia, new packages of sanctions, additions to the law on foreign agents, the fight for morality and against LGBT propaganda, a new history textbook and an updated curriculum in schools and universities – these are just some of the events of the past year. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that the state is not joking when it talks about a return to traditional values.

2023 was the hottest year in human history, United Nations experts came to this conclusion. But we didn’t seem to notice much, but it was even hotter here. But yes, the unfriendly West suffered, and by and large the friendly South too. Not all is well on planet Earth – this is not news. This past year was no exception. And the climate is deteriorating, and wars, unfortunately, continue, smoldering conflicts flare up, and some die out. So it doesn’t make much sense to list the main events.

But let’s move to Russia. The finale of 2023 turned out to be quite unexpected: will the New Year’s “Blue Light” and other holiday shows take place, in particular, without the participation of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Philip Bedrosovich Kirkorov and many of our other well-known representatives Melpomene? Others have left, and somehow this is no longer particularly surprising. But now we see a completely new phenomenon: famous people, popular, loved by many, it’s even scary to say something like that, undressed, and in public. Here’s the result of the year. This has definitely never happened – history is being created before our eyes, nothing less.

Let’s not once again return to the probably boring topic about this very notorious “naked party.” This is just a good example, illustrative. What we are so used to, what seemed unchangeable, like granite, is gradually disappearing and falling apart. We are beginning to live a different life, or rather, we have been in this new time for quite some time, which strongly resembles the past. However, many do not notice this, they think that nothing has changed, everything is as before – just think, they took off their clothes. No, dear gentlemen and comrades, we need to somehow restructure ourselves. And if you don’t want to, they will help you. Perhaps some people may not like these times. However, there is no discussion on this matter.

The second interesting point, so to speak, is a parting word for those who may still not be in the know or who do not know and do not actively follow the information agenda. So, please, men, don’t dress up as Snow Maidens or any other fairy-tale characters not of your gender, so that you don’t have to publicly repent later. Otherwise, you can suffer, deservedly so, because we have adopted a new law that prohibits even hints of someone else’s sexual orientation. Even if there are no women nearby, let there be only one Santa Claus, without a granddaughter.

Someone will say, they say, according to history, it has been this way since ancient times: an actor is an exclusively male profession. Is it possible if a woman dresses up as Santa Claus? What then? Enough, citizens, no need to ask unnecessary questions. Our job is to warn. And, you know, you shouldn’t undress either. Celebrate the New Year in clothes. There is no need to do anything non-standard. Or so that no one sees.

Speaking generally and seriously, now is really not the time for wild fun. And, frankly, any party, even dressed, is not entirely appropriate. The environment around is not the best. It is believed that our elites live a special life and don’t care about anything. So, in fact, they were punished, and painfully, although perhaps not all of them.

You can talk about achievements, about victories. But we are neither at the end nor at the beginning of the journey. We keep moving. The outcome of all the ongoing events has not yet arrived.

It may not come next year either. It’s not a fact that she will be happy. But you always need to believe in the best. So what can we say in this regard? Everything is more or less normal, and thank God.
