Čeferin urged to punish harshly for “bullying judges”

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin called the behavior of players and fans at many modern football matches unacceptable.
“We have to be more strict. It has become unbearable. There is constant pressure, every referee’s decision is discussed.
We should punish for bullying judges. We haven’t had time to do it yet because we’ve had several finals. After the season, we will talk about it, and I am waiting for proposals from the referee committee,” NOS quotes Čeferin.
Recall that the last European Cup finals were overshadowed by scandals.
Following the match between Sevilla and Roma in the Europa League final, fans of the Italian club staged a “hunt” for chief referee Anthony Taylor.
And during the 2022/23 Conference League final, Fiorentina – West Ham, Italian defender Cristiano Biraghi was hit by an object thrown from a fan stand.
