The Central Election Commission does not plan to deprive those who left Russia of the opportunity to vote remotely. This was reported Daily Storm in the press service of the CEC. At the same time, the CEC noted that there could be problems with electronic voting from abroad. For example, if a citizen will use the IP addresses of other countries.

“Special decisions to restrict the organization of voting by citizens living abroad have not been carried out. At the same time, access to the e-voting system hosted in the infrastructure of the Russian e-government from foreign IP addresses may be difficult due to blocking carried out by providers,” the Central Election Commission specified.

On January 18, Andrey Klimov, head of the Federation Council commission for protecting state sovereignty and preventing interference in Russia’s internal affairs, said that the West would use digital technologies to disrupt the presidential elections. According to Senator Klimov, Western countries will also use the fact that many citizens have left Russia since February 24.
