The head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova reported that from the start of the presidential elections until 14:30 today, March 16, 160 thousand cyber attacks were carried out on remote electronic voting systems (REV). According to her, 18 thousand attacks were carried out on the CEC website alone.
“Information as of 14:30: 160 thousand attacks on the resources of the DEG, the main blow was taken by the electronic voting portal itself – 130 thousand attacks. Almost 30 thousand to the DEG monitoring portal,” Ms. Pamfilova said at the briefing.
According to Ella Pamfilova, during the voting, fake CEC websites appeared that collected data from Russians; they were blocked by Roskomnadzor. According to her, unknown persons also created fake CEC accounts on social networks and her personal Telegram channel. “There are no channels of mine other than our official one. Everything else is nonsense, I don’t write any nonsense to anyone in the public domain,” she added.
