CD Projekt RED has announced a remake of the first video game in the Witcher series

Polish video game company CD Projekt RED Twitter announced the development of a remake of the first video game in the Witcher series on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. The development is carried out jointly with the Polish studio Fool`s Theory, the working title of the project is Canis Majoris.
CD Projekt RED asked fans to be patient as the company won’t be able to share all the details of the new project anytime soon. Formerly CD Projekt RED announced developing a new part of The Witcher on the Unreal Engine 5 engine, as well as reaching a strategic partnership with Epic Games, which will help CD Projekt RED maintain Unreal Engine 5.
The first video game in the Witcher series based on books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski was released in October 2007. Thanks to its success, two sequels were born – The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Earlier, CD Projekt RED stopped selling its video games in Russia in connection with the military operation in Ukraine.
