Caught a criminal, saved plane passengers: the Federation Council awarded child heroes

According to tradition, the Federation Council awards awards to children who have distinguished themselves in dangerous situations on the eve of National Unity Day. This time, two hundred young heroes from 60 regions of the country are nominated for the Upper House award. True, not everyone was able to come to the capital. Only 20 teenagers were able to personally attend the ceremony and receive a medal and memorable gifts from the hands of Valentina Matvienko, Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov and Heroes of Russia.

Valentina Matvienko, welcoming the young guests of the ceremony, noted that she would like to invite everyone, but the hall on the first floor of the Federation Council does not allow it. So those who did not come to Moscow will be honored in a solemn atmosphere in their small homeland. Senators will see to it.

The geography of children’s heroism, as always, is wide: from the Leningrad region to Kamchatka. Children from Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics also received awards.

Thus, 15-year-old Yegor Trachkovsky from the DPR received the medal “For Courage in Rescue” within the walls of the Federation Council. He is an activist of the people’s squad, a volunteer. Delivers humanitarian aid to military personnel and local residents. In addition to Yegor, another 22 teenagers from the Donetsk People’s Republic will receive honorary awards. All the guys deliver humanitarian aid to front-line areas. Yegor himself admits that the most difficult situation near the front line is with drinking water. This cannot be done without volunteers. The help of young volunteers is more valuable than ever after shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

— Recently there was shelling in the Kalininsky district (Donetsk. — “MK”), helped in clearing the rubble. I feel a duty to my Motherland. Until you are 18 years old, you need to help at least in this way,” said Yegor Trachkovsky.

Children from other regions of Russia also showed an example of remarkable ingenuity and truly childish courage. For example, two brothers from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Alexander and Ilya Khatanzeisky (14 and 11 years old), experienced the scenario of a disaster film. The guys were on board the An-2 plane that crashed in January. We woke up in the middle of the tundra. The hard landing of the plane led to the death of two people and ten more were injured. There could have been many more victims of the disaster if not for Sasha and Ilya.

“My brother pulled me out,” says Ilya Khatanzeisky. “I opened my eyes and saw only snow and darkness. Then I started chatting with everyone and covering them with warm clothes.

There was practically no communication in the forest where the An-2 fell. 14-year-old Alexander was not at a loss, climbed onto the plane, caught a cell phone signal and reported what had happened to rescuers.

There are a lot of stories this year about water rescues. Moreover, some rescuers are very small.

8-year-old Timur Ilyin from Chuvashia loves dogs very much and dreams of becoming a dog handler or a rescuer in the future. Two years ago, a boy pulled his friend out of the water. The guys were playing on the river with a puppy when Timur’s friend suddenly fell into an ice hole covered with snow.

“I thought that if I ran for help, my friend would drown.” I found a branch and tried to bend it, but it didn’t work. Then I crawled to the hole and tried to pull it out with my hands. It worked,” Timur recalls the details of his feat.

9-year-old Igor Belov from the Pskov region saved a girl from a pond. During a walk, the boy saw a drowning girl his age, rushed into the water and pulled the baby ashore. The adults arrived in time and helped the young hero take the wet and frightened survivor home to her parents.

10-year-old Gordey Rybakov from the Moscow region also saved a child from the water. When he pulled the girl ashore, she was no longer breathing. The young hero was not taken aback and gave the baby artificial respiration. The girl was saved.

A similar story with a happy ending happened in the Kirov region. There, 11-year-old Artem Gagarinov saw a girl fall from a pontoon bridge into a pond. Artem dived several times before he saw her.

The story of 15-year-old Alexandra Andreeva almost ended in tragedy. On the Baltic Sea, she saved a drowning 11-year-old girl and almost died herself. Seeing that the child was being carried away by the current from the shore to the breakwaters, Alexandra rushed to help. She swam up to the girl, but she, in a panic, grabbed Sasha by the neck and began to drown her. By some miracle, Alexandra managed to drag her ward to the shore.

Also, 14-year-old Anastasia Krasnykh (Leningrad region) and 15-year-old Arina Smirnova from the Vologda region received awards for saving a person on the water. Nastya helped an adult woman get out of the lake, and Arina saved the life of a 9-year-old boy who began having convulsions while swimming in the sea.

Two lives were saved at once thanks to the competent actions of Denis Fedorkin (14 years old) from the Samara region. The teenager saved two drowning people and provided them with first aid. And 14-year-old Ivan Berdnikov from the Nizhny Novgorod region, saving his friend Artem, almost went under the ice himself. Last March, the guys walked by the water. Artem decided to check the thickness of the ice and failed. Ivan rushed to help his comrade, but he himself ended up in the water. Then Vanya decided to first push Artem onto the ice, and then managed to get out himself.

Several teenagers from the Russian outback came face to face with fire and were not afraid.

One of them is 14-year-old Anna Belyakova from Bashkiria. Last year, a girl from a large family saved her brothers and sisters from a burning house. At night, when the fire started, she woke up, broke a window, dragged four kids outside, and then managed to get out herself. The girl was hospitalized with a burn to her right shoulder and carbon monoxide poisoning.

“I wasn’t scared when I saved the little ones.” But then it became scary, because I thought that they would suffer too,” Anya said.

The girl has already decided on her profession: she will be a rescuer.

How a professional firefighter behaved in an extreme situation was 16-year-old Ramazan Bagirov from Dagestan. He saved an elderly woman from a burning house. The young man pulled the owner out of the burning building and handed her over to rescuers. And 17-year-old young athlete Gleb Lebedev from the Khabarovsk Territory saved three children from a burning house. The young man woke up the kids, broke the window and helped them get out.

Another recipient, 16-year-old Mikhail Manglyus from Kamchatka, despite his young age, can rightfully be considered a threat to the criminal world. The guy neutralized the robbers. He saw two intruders snatch a woman’s bag in the park. Mikhail rushed after the thieves, caught up with one of them, threw him to the ground and held him until the police arrived.

It was only thanks to 15-year-old Leonid Petryan from the Krasnoyarsk Territory that the now widespread story did not end in tragedy: a small child ended up at a wide-open window. The teenager walked past a residential high-rise building and saw how the baby got caught on the cornice. Leonid climbed up the drainpipe and pushed the baby back into the apartment.

“Feat has no age,” said Valentina Matvienko, addressing the young heroes. “You performed heroic deeds that not every adult is capable of.” In the most difficult situation, you did not get confused, did not get scared, did not become cowardly, did not run away, but came to the aid of people in trouble.
