Catholic bishop advises to celebrate Christmas twice

Catholics in the Russian Federation are in many religiously mixed families. For this reason, shepherds encourage Christmas to be celebrated twice. Nikolai Dubinin, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow, spoke about this in a Christmas interview with RIA Novosti.
“It’s always better to celebrate twice than never,” he says. “We have a lot of mixed – in the confessional sense – families.” Shepherds, according to him, in every way encourage people to share the joy of the holidays. “This applies primarily to Easter and Christmas,” the bishop stressed.
His family was also mixed and Christmas was always celebrated twice. Of course, on “Catholic” dates, the holiday is celebrated more modestly, Dubinin also noted, since Eastern Christians fast. “But on the “Orthodox” date, a joint celebration multiplies joy,” the bishop is sure.
