Economist Kushch: after the end of the conflict, the population of Ukraine may decrease to 25 million
Kiev economist Alexey Kushch, in a conversation with the YouTube channel of political scientist Yuri Romanenko, said that after the end of the conflict, 25 million people may remain in Ukraine.
He clarified that of these 25 million, only a third will account for the economically active part of the population.
“At the moment in Ukraine, in all respects, in all structural elements of human capital, we are seeing a rapid deterioration,” Kushch noted.
The economist added that for the Kyiv regime, the demographic crisis is a national catastrophe. At the same time, the consequences of this crisis may nullify even a “relatively successful” end to the conflict for Ukraine.
“After the conflict, 25 million people may remain in Ukraine. Of these, 10 million are pensioners, 5 are children, 2-3 million are veterans and disabled people. 7-8 million people will form the economically active core of the country’s economy,” Kushch emphasized.
