The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) stripped Russian weightlifter Tatyana Kashirina, disqualified for eight years for violating anti-doping rules, of three world champion titles, three European champion titles, three world records and a number of other victories won between 2013 and 2017. CAS reported this to the publication Inside the Games.
“All competitive results of Tatiana Kashirina from April 1, 2013 to June 19, 2017 were canceled with all ensuing consequences, including the deprivation of any titles, awards, medals, points, prize money and money for performances,” the CAS statement said.
Kashirina, in particular, was stripped of her victories at the 2013, 2014 and 2015 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships, as well as the 2014, 2015 and 2017 European Championships. In addition, the athlete was deprived of the world records that she set at the 2014 World Championships.
August 31 C.A.S. canceled acquittal of the RUSADA disciplinary anti-doping committee regarding five-time world weightlifting champion Tatyana Kashirina. In June 2022, the committee dropped all charges against her for violating anti-doping rules. CAS upheld the appeals of RUSADA and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and disqualified Tatyana Kashirina for eight years. Taking into account the period of temporary suspension from November 13, 2020 to June 30, 2022, her disqualification will last until January 9, 2030.
