The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) published the testimony of coach Eteri Tutberidze in the doping case of Kamila Valieva. According to Tutberidze, she did not discuss the medications prescribed to the athlete with her doctors.

“As a coach, Tutberidze “does not control or discuss with team doctors the medications and supplements prescribed to athletes,” the court reports the coach’s testimony.

Tutberidze also stated that Valieva did not tell her anything about heart problems, except for the incident in March 2021. Then, after a detailed examination, the FMBA recommended that the athlete reduce her loads.

Let us remind you that Kamila’s period of disqualification starts from December 2021, when the positive doping test was passed, and will end in December 2025. The defense insisted that the prohibited substance came into her possession by accident, due to the dessert her grandfather had prepared. However, the court found this version untenable.
