Cargo turnover of Russian seaports in 2022 decreased by 0.2%

For seven months since the beginning of 2022, the cargo turnover of seaports in Russia decreased by 0.2% in annual terms and amounted to 482 million tons, this is stated on site Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot). The transshipment of dry cargo also decreased (to 225.8 million tons, by 5.1%), while the volume of liquid cargo transshipment increased to 256.2 million tons (by 4.5% compared to 2021 data).

The reduction in cargo turnover affected the seaports of the Far East, Caspian, Azov-Black Sea and Baltic basins. The growth in cargo turnover was recorded only in the ports of the Arctic basin (by 3.3%).

Cargo turnover is growing in a number of European ports against the background of the termination of work with Russia and the growth of imports of liquefied natural gas. At the end of July on improving performance reported Europe’s largest port of Rotterdam.
