The reusable cargo ship Cargo Dragon of the American company SpaceX on Sunday made a successful autonomous docking with the International Space Station (ISS).

NASA reports that docking to the Harmony module of the American segment of the ISS took place at 07:39 US East Coast time (15:39 Moscow time).

The ship-truck delivered 3.5 tons of food, as well as equipment and materials for scientific experiments.

At the moment, Cargo Dragon is the only ISS supply ship capable of returning cargo to Earth.

The ship will stay on the ISS for 45 days. Then it will be deorbited, and its descent capsule will splash down in the Atlantic.

As planned, the results of experiments carried out by the ISS crew in orbit will be delivered to Earth. Their total weight will be over 2.3 tons.
