Captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sery spoke about the inefficiency of the Ukrainian RPV-16 jet flamethrowers
A serviceman of the 63rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Vitaliy Seriy, who was captured in the Krasnolimansky direction in the Donbass, said that Ukrainian-made RPV-16 rocket-propelled flamethrowers, which are supplied to AFU soldiers for fighting in the fields, turned out to be ineffective.
The prisoner stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have flamethrower platoons that are armed with “something like the Russian Shmel flamethrower”, but they turned out to be ineffective when used in the fields. He pointed out that the Ukrainian RPV-16 flamethrowers are more suitable for urban combat. According to Gray, this weapon is not for the fields, but rather in order to “shoot at the buildings” within the city.
The fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that Ukrainian servicemen prefer not to take this type of weapon with them during combat exits due to its inefficiency, as well as due to the inconvenience of transportation and use.
