Capital companies compete for the title “Best Russian Watches”

The competition for the title of the best domestic watch, which started in Moscow on September 22, will end on October 6. The details of the competition were revealed by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, Vladislav Ovchinsky.
“25 manufacturers are taking part in the competition, ten of which are Moscow. In the Museum of Time and Watches they present sports, classic and jewelry – a total of 60 models in 10 categories,” Ovchinsky said. He noted that to vote for the best watches in the country until October 6, and the winners will be determined on October 10.
The Moscow plant Polet-Chronos presented two models at the competition: “Icebreaker” and “Yacht Timer”. The company produces marine chronometers, deck watches and wristwatches. And since 2016, the plant has been producing accessories for 6MX sailors.
Another metropolitan plant “Slava” presented five models at the exhibition: “Doctor”, “ICE”, “Triumph”, “Afalina” and “Customizing”. The company was founded in 1924. Over its nearly century-long history, the company has produced more than 330 million watches.
“The goal of our competition is to introduce everyone interested in watchmaking to the models that are produced in our country. This year, you can see the exhibition works both on the competition website and at the event site in the “Museum of Time and Clocks,” said competition organizer Vyacheslav Medvedev.
