Deputy head of the Canadian embassy in Moscow summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry
Deputy head of the Canadian Embassy in Moscow, Brian Ebel, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 14, the ministry said. He was reportedly demarched because of the intention of the Canadian authorities to confiscate the Russian An-124 aircraft, which was arrested in Toronto on February 27, 2022.
“The Russian side regards such a step <...> as cynical theft,” the Foreign Ministry said.
They also added that Ottawa’s actions would have the most serious consequences for bilateral relations. They “are on the verge of collapse” due to the fault of “the regime of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Truddo announced his intention to confiscate the plane and transfer it to Ukraine during a recent trip to Kyiv.
