The implementation of the project “Sport is the norm of life” in the Leningrad region was considered at a government meeting on Thursday, October 27. The authorities said that they plan to develop not only children’s and youth sports, but also student sports in the region.
According to the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, by 2030 the region plans to involve at least 70% of the population in sports. This will help improve the quality of people’s health, as well as instill in the population a desire to play sports.
The head of the region added that until 2024 there is a program for the development of student sports in the Leningrad region, and it will be developed further. In addition, he noted that it is important to create conditions for sports, that is, to build more sports facilities.
