“Olaf Scholz is absolutely right when, shortly after making the difficult decision on battle tanks, he gives a clear rejection to the immediately sparked debate about new deliveries of offensive weapons systems from Germany,” Stegner said in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt.
According to the parliamentarian, comprehensive assistance from Germany to Ukraine implies that there will be no escalation in the future. One of the main points of the deputy called “exclude involvement in the war.”
In an interview with Tagesspiegel, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz categorically refused to send fighter jets and other offensive weapons to Ukraine after German tanks. He stressed that the issue of aircraft “is not raised at all.”
