Dmitry Bulykin called the main reasons for the low level of football in Russia
Former football player of the Russian national team Dmitry Bulykin told RT channel about the reasons for the low level of football in the Russian Premier League.
In his opinion, “the low level of football in Russia is due to the fact that we have few people who really understand football.” Bulykin explained: “Businessmen come to the clubs and begin to apply their financial strategies in order to earn money.” At the same time, businessmen are “only interested in profit” and “therefore, nothing works out.” He noted “a banal misunderstanding of football details, subtleties.”
Bulykin said that “this happens not only in our country” and cited Chelsea as an example, where “Todd Bowley came and turned” the top club “into a laughingstock.”
The same, according to him, “applies to almost all clubs in the RPL.”
Bulykin stressed that such a sport as football “does not forgive neglect.”
At the same time, he said that “functionaries will not fully understand why this happened,” and “no one listens” to truly knowledgeable football specialists or experienced athletes.
