The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, for the first time personally commented on reports of his injury and death, which have recently begun to circulate in the media and telegram channels. In particular, information about this was published by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
RIA, indicating that it received information from an informed source, claimed that Budanov was seriously injured May 29 during a Russian strike on a departmental building. After that, he was transferred to Poland, from there – for treatment in Germany, the report said.
On June 19, the Ukrainian edition of the Kyiv Post published an article in which Budanov made his first comment on this topic.
“A special detachment of immortal commanders is being created in Ukraine,” the quote is quoted.
Further, the speaker said that this “detachment”, in addition to him, includes the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, as well as “Stepan Bandera, Simon Petliura, Ivan Mazepa.”
Also on Monday, a comment appeared about the possible death of Zaluzhny – in his Telegram channel there was new video posted.
