Bryansk weightlifters returned from Kaluga with a full set of awards

The team of the Bryansk region demonstrated excellent physical fitness, performing in the program of the All-Russian competition “Governor’s Cup of the Kaluga Region” in kettlebell lifting. In general, the tournament brought together over 180 kettlebell lifters from 27 regions. The Bryansk region was represented by participants of the Olympic reserve wrestling school.
Pupils of Vladimir Gomonov have climbed to the podium more than once, the press service of the mayor’s office reports. Andrey Mukhitov became the winner in the weight category up to 95 kg in the long cycle clean and jerk.
Elena Yaskova earned bronze in the over 68 kg category. At the same time, the athlete performed 29 lifts of 24-kilogram weights, which is an absolute record for the Bryansk region. Victoria Alyanova became fifth in the weight category up to 68 kg with 23 lifts, which updated the previous regional record.
As a result, the Bryansk team received a silver award with a result of 136 lifts, ahead of the Belgorod weightlifters. The team from Moscow was recognized as the leader of the relay.
