The titled Bryansk athlete Artem Osipenko became the winner of the international competitions “Grand Prix” in sambo, the press service of the city administration reports.
The large-scale event took place in Krasnodar and brought together over a hundred of the strongest representatives not only from Russia, but also from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The program of the competition included the participation of wrestlers in seven weight categories of sports and combat sambo.
In serious competition Artyom Osipenko in the 98 kg category earned the main trophy of the tournament – a gold medal. Recall that the sambo wrestler is a graduate of the sports school of the Olympic reserve for wrestling in the city of Bryansk and trains under the guidance of Sergei Portnov.
In general, Russian athletes completed the tournament with brilliant results, winning 40 awards. According to the results of the team event, the Russian team became the favorite. The second step of the podium was taken by the team of Armenia, and athletes from Azerbaijan closed the top three.
