Brotherhood of Four – Style

The name of the ring is translated from French as “four”. Quatre is a ring made up of four rings placed together. The original piece, created by the Boucheron design team in 2004, combines four types of gold and four design motifs that reference the brand’s history. The polished rose gold double band symbolizes the unity of two loving souls. It is no coincidence that many clients, especially in Asia, perceive Quatre rings as engagement rings. The relief on chocolate gold with a special pvd coating was reminiscent of the paving stones of Place Vendôme – it was here that Frederic Bouchron settled and was the first jeweler to open his store. This motif has been present in the house’s decorations since 1911. The white gold band sparkled with a trail of colorless diamonds, reminiscent of Boucheron’s expertise in working with precious stones. Finally, a ring made of yellow gold with characteristic notches referred to the texture of the grosgrain ribbon and recalled that the father of the company founder was a famous textile merchant in Paris.

The “four in one” motif turned out to be incredibly productive. Over 20 years, the company has released more than 140 designs. Gold was replaced by ceramics – white, black, red, blue; instead of relief patterns, diamonds of different shades sparkled. Pendants, round earrings and bracelets were added to the basic rings, including the XL version. The graphic structure of Quatre has been reworked more than once in Boucheron’s high jewelry collections.

For Quatre’s anniversary, a jewelry version of the ring with yellow sapphires and spessartines, a flexible choker made of strung 50 classic rings, as well as a precious chainmail cape woven from gold and 315 Quatre rings appeared.
