Bronze bust of Yuri Gagarin in Tajikistan

On November 24, 2022, a solemn ceremony of opening a memorial bust of the first cosmonaut of the Earth took place in the capital of Tajikistan, the city of Dushanbe, on the territory of the Russian-Tajik School named after. Yu. A. Gagarin.
The ceremony was attended by such honored guests as Vladimir Polozkov, Secretary General of the Russian Association for International Cooperation, and Russian cosmonaut Salizhan Shakirovich Sharipov.
This landmark event will become one of the important steps in maintaining and further strengthening friendly ties, mutual understanding and cooperation, and will facilitate the exchange of cultural values between the peoples of our countries.
A bronze bust of Yuri Gagarin, made by sculptor Alexei Leonov, was donated to the Tajik side by the International Charitable Foundation “Dialogue of Cultures – United World” with the active assistance of the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan. Since 2011, the Foundation has been implementing a project to install busts and monuments to Yu. A. Gagarin as a symbol of dialogue between countries and the unity of the peoples of the Earth in the name of peaceful purposes.
