On October 14, 2023, from 18:05 to 23:55 Moscow time, some inhabitants of the Earth will be able to see an annular eclipse of the Sun. It will be observed in North America and South America, as well as in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, but not over the territory of Russia.
The maximum phase will occur at 21:00 Moscow time, reports Moscow Planetarium.
You can see the eclipse “live” online broadcast of the Timeanddate resource.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, being at or near the farthest point of its orbit from the Earth. The lunar disk does not completely cover the solar disk and is surrounded by a “ring of fire”.
Those who will be able to watch the eclipse in the sky rather than via broadcast will need to take care to protect their eyes from bright light.
