British politician urges health workers to abandon strike to ‘signal Putin’

Strikers in the UK National Health Service should have refused to participate in protests in order to “not help Putin.” This was stated by the leader of the Conservative Party Nadhim Zahavi, reports Independent.
According to Zahavi, the doctors should end the strike in order to send “a clear signal to Mr. Putin.” Recall that doctors and nurses demand higher wages.
Instead of addressing the country’s social problems, Zahavi criticizes the strikes, noting that they contribute to the “disunity” of the United Kingdom at a time when it is necessary to unite efforts against Russia. However, the British public has already condemned Zahavi’s statement. In particular, the secretary general of the Royal College of Nursing Pat Cullen called it unacceptable to use the events in Ukraine to cover up wage cuts in the UK itself.
