Britain urges its citizens to avoid traveling to Lebanon

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has advised its citizens against traveling to Lebanon due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. should from the department’s updated recommendations.
“FCDO advises against all travel to Lebanon. If you are currently in Lebanon, we recommend that you leave now while commercial options are available,” the message said.
The ministry warns that if the recommendations are not followed, travel insurance may be canceled and consular support may be limited. UK citizens are also asked to register their presence in Lebanon and not rely on the FCDO if an emergency evacuation is required.
The Foreign Ministry explained its recommendations by the conflict between Israel and Palestine, since shelling continues in the south of Lebanon on the border with Israel, and the situation may worsen and affect exit routes from the country.
Earlier on October 18, the US State Department recommended its citizens to refrain from traveling to Lebanon due to rocket and artillery attacks between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
On October 16, Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov also called Russians should postpone visiting the republic. He emphasized that the diplomatic mission maintains contacts with Russians living in Lebanon. He advised citizens fearing for their safety to leave Lebanon through Beirut airport. According to the ambassador, “now is the time” to take advantage of this opportunity.
