The press service of the Office of the Prime Minister of Great Britain issued a statement by Liz Truss, in which she announced an imminent update of the country’s defense doctrine.

According to the document, this decision will allow “the architecture of the UK in the field of diplomacy, defense and security to keep pace with the growing threat from hostile states.”

It is clarified that the definition of “hostile states” mainly refers to Russia and China.

In this regard, the UK, according to the Cabinet, should invest in “the strategic capabilities and alliances that are needed in order to firmly resist pressure from authoritarian forces such as Russia and China.”

It is planned that the update will be published by the end of 2022.
