The UK is developing plans in the event of a threat that Challenger 2 tanks fall into the hands of the Russian military, writes The Sun, citing a source close to the British Ministry of Defense.
The publication notes that in the event of a tank capture, Russian specialists will have access to samples of British composite armor, whose composition is kept secret.
In London, they believe that the Russian military will most likely seek to capture one of the tanks in order to study it. To prevent this, Britain and Ukraine are discussing options for evacuating equipment from the battlefield in critical situations.
London wants operations planners not to use British tanks in scenarios that involve the real possibility of a front collapse. In addition, it is planned to train the Armed Forces of Ukraine to evacuate tanks while under fire.
Recall that Britain intends to transfer 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine by the end of March.
