The UK Ministry of Defense aims to train 30,000 Ukrainian military personnel, the head of the country’s defense department, Grant Shapps, told Sky News.

“Our goal is to train 30,000 Ukrainian military personnel. So I don’t think Britain’s resolve is wavering in any way or form. And we will stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainians,” said minister

He also announced that Kyiv would receive “tens of thousands of additional rounds of ammunition.” About 300,000 rounds of ammunition are now needed and the UK will provide “a huge amount of additional support and equipment” before the end of the year, the minister said.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Great Britain expanded the range of supplies to Kyiv. On July 12, responding to criticism from Ukraine over arms supplies, former Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that the UK is not an Amazon delivery service. He also called on Kyiv to be more grateful for the support it has already received. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak disagreed with Wallace’s words.

At the end of July, the Daily Express wrote that Ukrainian special forces pass in Great Britain preparations for the invasion of Crimea. According to the publication’s source, more than 2,000 soldiers are taking part in the special exercises.

Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv and pointed to the growing direct and indirect involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine. The Kremlin stated that European and American tanks would burn in the same way as all other Western military equipment.
