Brazilians dance further – Sport – Kommersant

The Brazilian national team more than confidently won a ticket to the quarterfinals of the World Cup. In the first round of the playoffs, she simply destroyed a very strong team of South Korea, before the break she scored four unanswered goals. As a result, the match ended with a score of 4:1, and one of the goals, albeit from a penalty kick, was scored by Neymar, who recovered from injury and again leads his partners to the champion title. The next opponent of the Brazilians will be the Croatian national team.
The main topic before the match of the 1/8 finals of Brazil-South Korea was the return of Neymar, who suffered an ankle injury in the opening match with the Serbs and did not play again in the group stage. As it turned out, even the Brazilian national team, which is so rich in attacking masters, has a very high degree of dependence on one football player. Without Neymar, she barely managed one goal against the Swiss and scored nothing at all against the Cameroonians. So Neymar was simply necessary for the Brazilians in the playoffs, even in the confrontation with the Koreans, who had already shown that they were not to be trifled with, and, having defeated the Portuguese, sent the Uruguayans home.
The recovery of Danilo was also good news for Brazil coach Tite, otherwise he had serious problems with full-backs, because Alex Sandro and Alex Telles were also on the injured list. Although, for sure, the damage to the striker Gabriel Jesus added a headache to the Brazilian specialist, and he, like Telles, was apparently out of action before the end of the championship.
However, there were still questions about Neymar. Only the game could tell how good he would be after a rather long pause, and the previous match with his participation took place on November 24th. The leader of the Brazilians at first behaved quite cautiously and did not climb on the rampage. And the whole team seemed to be in no hurry to go anywhere. But suddenly Rafinha on his right flank broke into the operational space and made a backache, which initially went to Neymar, and reached Vinicius Junior. The Koreans blocked the first one, but the second one calmly took the ball, took aim and sent it on horseback into the net.
Thus, in the seventh minute, the Brazilian team led 1-0, and soon earned a penalty. Richarlison got ahead of Jung Woo-young, who was about to take the ball away from the penalty area and hit the attacker in the leg. Referee Clement Turpin immediately pointed to the “point”, and VAR did not mind. Neymar volunteered to shoot and cold-bloodedly outplayed goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu. The advantage of the favorite 2:0 already in the debut, of course, quickly reduced the chances of the South Korean team at least for a draw in regular time to zero.
There was an episode when the author of the winning goal in the match with the Portuguese, Hwang Hi Chan, powerfully charged from a distance and the goalkeeper Alisson parried his blow with some difficulty, but in general, the Koreans looked doomed. But the Brazilians caught the courage and staged their favorite carnival. In the 29th minute, Richarlison, having juggled the ball several times, passed the ball to Marquinhos, who played on Thiago Silva, who brought the same Richarlison one on one with goalkeeper Kim. All this in one touch, and the ending turned out cool. By tradition, the Brazilians celebrated the goal with a team dance, in which even Tite was now involved.
The dancing continued after Lucas Paqueta completed Vinicius’ graceful canopy. And the Koreans were lucky that by the break they were on fire 0:4. Paqueta and Richarlison missed out on another fat scoring chance. Kim saved, despite the fact that the rest of the Kims, and in defense of the South Korean national team, football players exclusively with such surnames played, they did not help him well. Yes, and the main Korean star Son Heung-min, probably, most of all wanted to forget this match as a bad dream, realizing that it was already useless to play further.
But the second half, of course, no one canceled. And it even started with the fact that Son pressed the defender and ran away on a date with Alisson. However, in this English duel, given the club affiliation of its participants, the Liverpool goalkeeper neutralized the Tottenham striker. Then again it was the turn of Kim, who, it seems, decided that at least he would not miss Rafinha. True, the Brazilians themselves have already danced and did not particularly insist on continuing the scoring extravaganza. At the same time, in defense, they still did not give themselves concessions and acted with discipline. And when Alisson again pulled from Hwang from the English Wolverhampton, the defenders did not allow Son to finish the ball.
The Koreans still scored a goal of prestige. Baek Seung Ho shied away from the penalty area so much that Alisson was powerless, especially since the ricochet slightly changed the trajectory of the ball. Of course, in essence, this blow could not change anything. Both teams played out the meeting, and Tite replaced not only Neymar, who ended up having a good match, but also Alisson, releasing the reserve goalkeeper for Weverton. Game time was also given to 39-year-old super-veteran Dani Alves, who even tried to score a beautiful volley. But the Brazilian team won so beautifully 4:1 and advanced to Croatia in the quarterfinals.
