CSKA coach Fedotov: Fernandez, “becoming Russian”, cannot adapt in his native Brazil
CSKA Moscow head coach Vladimir Fedotov shared opinion on the situation with the former defender of the club Brazilian Mario Fernandez.
Earlier it was reported that on April 21, Fernandez terminated the lease agreement with the Brazilian Internacional.
“Surprisingly, he became so Russian that he could not adapt in his native country,” Fedotov told Match TV.
He said that “the translator, who knows Fernandez well, was in contact with him in Brazil.” As it turned out, at home, “Mario had a lot of questions.”
Fedotov also said that in Brazil, football is “a religion, but we don’t know the full extent of the relationship that prevails in Brazilian football.”
The coach also expressed the hope that “Mario will come to Russia” and “he will tell what he had to face and what difficulties he experienced.”
At the end of last season, Mario Fernandez took an indefinite hiatus from his CSKA career and returned to Brazil to be with his family and relax. In September, his son was born. For about a year, the defender does not enter the field.
In December, CSKA gave Fernandez permission to spend a year on loan at Internacional.
Earlier, CSKA General Director Roman Babaev did not rule out the return of Fernandez to the club.
