In Kursk, with the support of the regional Ministry of Sports, the city Assembly and Terra LLC, the Kursk Regional Boxing Championship was held from February 26 to 28. For three days, boys, juniors and men, as well as girls, found out which of them was the strongest in their weight category.

About a hundred boxers applied to participate. At the opening ceremony, the athletes were congratulated by the Minister of Sports of the Kursk Region Alexey Petukhov. He wished all the boxers victory and willpower.

After the opening and the first day of the competition, the semi-finalists were determined and fought in the ring to continue the fight.

The second stage turned out to be especially intense! Fiery fights, a sea of emotions, a lot of impressions – this is how this day was remembered by the participants, the referee team, the organizers and, of course, the numerous fans who came to support the boxers at the Youth Boxing Sports Center in Kursk.

More than 20 pairs of competitors reached the finals. They faced difficult tests for the title of Champion of the Kursk Region. Weight categories – from 37 to 92 kg. Among the finalists there were also girls aged 13-14 years.

The battles of the third and final day were opened by Nicole Prikhodko and Ekaterina Kholodova. They compete in the 51 kg weight category, both from Kursk. The next to enter the ring were Varvara Parshikova from Zheleznogorsk and Anastasia Kholodova from the Kursk SShOR, competing in the 60 kg weight category.

It was very difficult even for the organizers to determine the brightest fight of the past competitions.

– Many athletes showed a high level of skill, will to win and steely character, they fought until the last second of the fight– told in FOC Youth Boxing.

Of course, one can name the most anticipated and one of the most spectacular fights – this is the rematch between Bogdan Pereverzev and Andrei Seleznev, students of the Kursk SShOR. A serious confrontation took place in the ring, there were practically no empty seats in the stands, and the spectators supported the athletes so actively that sometimes their applause was louder than the sound of the gong. In this fight, the judges gave the victory to Bogdan Pereverzev.

In the heaviest weight category – over 92 kg – the title of champion was won by boxer Mikhail Dolzhenkov, a representative of the Kursk Boxing School.

It should be noted that the organization of the Championship was held at a high level. This is what Alexander Trubnikov, adviser to the governor of the Kursk region, chairman of the regional Boxing Federation, said before the final fights.

– The Terra company plays a major role in holding this sporting event. In addition, she constantly helps in the development of boxing in the Kursk region. This applies to various training camps and to the participation of our athletes in competitions at various levels, including international ones. I wish the finalists to fight without injuries and may the strongest win, – noted Alexander Trubnikov.
