Borrell worried about the friendship between Putin and Erdogan

The close cooperation between Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan worried EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell. He believes that in this way Moscow is trying to get out of the sanctions. Borrell wrote about this in a message to the European Parliament, reports URA.RU.
The greatest concern of the head of the EU foreign policy department is the buildup of economic relations between Russia and Turkey. In addition, the diplomat is unhappy that the Turks refuse to join the anti-Russian sanctions.
Borrell recalled that the customs agreement allows free movement of goods from the EU to Turkey. This means that “dual-use” products can freely enter Russia. And there it can be used for both civilian and military purposes. The diplomat insists on warning Ankara against allowing Moscow to circumvent sanctions.
Recall that Western sanctions have been imposed against Russia since 2014. The pressure has increased since February 2022, when a special military operation in Ukraine was announced. Western countries expected to destroy the Russian economy. So far, however, sanctions have only accelerated inflation in both the EU and the US.
