The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, in his official blog, said that EU representatives are in favor of expanding cooperation with the states of Central Asia.
He specified that it is possible to build transport corridors bypassing Russia. As an example, he cited the Trans-Caspian transport route, the creation of which was discussed earlier in Kazakhstan.
“The European Union is interested in improving relations with countries located in this region. We must create new connections, use its huge potential, in particular, energy supplies, supplies of important raw materials and new transport corridors that will not depend on the Russian Federation,” Borrell said.
