Borrell called on Russia to withdraw troops from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant
The use of drones to strike the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) must be stopped because it “increases the risk of a nuclear incident.” This statement was made by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, on his page on the social network X, without specifying that it was the Ukrainian Armed Forces that were behind the attacks on the nuclear power plant.
“Reckless drone strikes on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant increase the risk of a nuclear incident. Such attacks must stop,” the text says.
In addition, Borrell called on Russia to withdraw its troops from the station. It is worth noting that the Russian side has repeatedly said that the Zaporizhia NPP does not have the heavy weapons that Kyiv is talking about.
Borrell also expressed “full support” for the work being done by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
Let us recall that on April 7, the Ukrainian side struck the nuclear power plant three times with drones.
