Borisov: Russia will not self-isolate in space matters

Colleagues from Asian, African and even European countries are ready to cooperate with Russia in space, Moscow will not self-isolate on this issue, said Yuri Borisov, Director General of Roscosmos.
“I try to travel a lot around the world. Colleagues from other countries, Asian countries, African countries, and partly European countries are ready and willing, and will work with us. Borisov stressed that space should be out of politics. “This cooperation should be developed with all those countries who want and can work with us,” said the head of Roscosmos.
A day earlier, it became known that Borisov informed heads of foreign space agencies on the extension of work on the International Space Station (ISS) until 2028. Letters were sent to NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, ESA Head Joseph Aschbacher, CSA President Lisa Campbell and Keiko Nagaoka, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, specified in the representation.
Borisov announced the decision to extend the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS until 2028 at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 12. He noted that “time is running fast” and Russia “shouldn’t have breaks in manned cosmonautics.” According to him, the industry’s financial position is stable, and the state corporation “understands where to go.”
