Director General of Roskosmos Yuri Borisov believes that the issue of extending cross flights can be considered in the implementation of existing agreements. At the moment, the Russian state corporation has an agreement with NASA on three flights. NASA plans start negotiations with Russia on extending the agreement in autumn.
“While we are not getting ahead of ourselves, we will see how the existing agreements will be implemented,” Mr. Borisov said. TASS.
The cross-flight agreement provides for the flights of Russian cosmonauts on ships as part of NASA missions and American cosmonauts on Roscosmos ships. This is necessary so that at least one NASA or Roscosmos cosmonaut remains on the ISS in case of emergency.
Roscosmos and NASA signed an agreement on cross-flights in mid-July. The document involves the implementation of three flights of Russian cosmonauts on the American Crew Dragon. The first flight of the Russian cosmonaut is scheduled for October 3rd. To the ISS on an American ship will fly Anna Kikina.
