The head of the city of Pskov, Boris Yolkin, in his Telegram channel summed up the work of the city and regional authorities over the year in the field of sports. Thus, he recalled that a skate park was opened in the regional center on Leon Pozemsky Street, where a massive festival of street sports took place.
With the support of the RFU, another artificial football field appeared at the Mashinostroitel stadium. A new park on the Milevka River in Zapskovye has a sports ground where you can play mini-football, basketball and workout.
In addition, they began to build a “Figital Center”, which will combine physical and digital sports. On Zavelichye, near Nikolskaya Street, work on the construction of a “smart” open-type sports and recreation complex is being completed. The work is planned to be completed this year and the facilities will be put into operation.
Boris Yolkin also recalled that with the support of the Governor of the Pskov Region, Mikhail Vedernikov, for the first time in 12 years, it was possible to update sports equipment for city schools. About 14 million rubles were spent for these purposes.
In 2023, more than 440 sporting events took place in Pskov. And at all-Russian competitions, Pskov residents took 328 first and prize places.
