Skiers Alexander Bolshunov and Sergey Ustyugov will not be penalized after a collision during the race at the 5th stage of the KR in Krasnogorsk. This was announced to journalists on Tuesday by a representative of the jury of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, transmits “Sport-Express”. According to him, the athletes are not at fault in what happened.
He explained that the jury took the incident as “a mutual flight-incident that does not carry sanctions” against Bolshunov and Ustyugov.
At the same time, Bolshunov said after the race that he considers Ustyugov’s actions to be deliberate.
Both skiers, due to a collision and the fall that followed, were unable to reach the final of the tournament. Bolshunov also had a scratched face.
Alexander Terentiev won this race. The second was Fedor Nazarov, the third came Denis Filimonov. And the struggle between the two leaders ended there.
